Rural architecture

On the day of May 22, 2022, thanks to Prof. Arch. Emma Buondonno, we were able to attend the International Conference "Rural Architecture: the Memory of the Country," organized by ICOMOS, International Council on Monuments and Sites. On this occasion, it was presented the renovation project of the architectural complex of our farm, which we consider a truly constituent part of our overall agricultural development project.

Emma Buondonno, we were able to attend the International Conference "Rural Architecture: the Memory of the Country," organized by ICOMOS, International Council on Monuments and Sites. On this occasion, it was presented the renovation project of the architectural complex of our farm, which we consider a truly constituent part of our overall agricultural development project.

The conference was a key opportunity, not only to talk about the conservation and restoration of rural architecture, but more importantly to exchange and circulate ideas on this topic in an international context. 

one of the founding aspects of our policy is precisely the preservation, thus the restoration, of rural architecture and, consequently, of the agricultural landscape as a whole. The enhancement of historical-rural heritage, allows the continuity and survival of a large part of our national cultural heritage that, if not properly restored, would result in a real loss of the historical identity of the territories, with significant reflections also in economic terms. 

The restoration of rural architecture, and the preservation of the beauty of the agrarian landscape, is fundamental, in fact, from a twofold point of view, on the one hand it contributes to safeguarding the historical-cultural heritage that we have been able to inherit, and on the other it constitutes a necessary resource for socio-economic development, consistent with the different territories of reference.

The enhancement of rural architecture and landscape, in other words, is an integral part of agricultural development, which, as we note lately, is a primary and essential resource for countries.
